Hunter is a black and white tuxedo cat estimated at about eight years old. He was dropped off at the shelter a few years ago with an anonymous note. He was a stray that came to their door and wouldn't leave. They fed him for several months but couldn't find his original owners. They couldn't keep him due to objections from their dogs. "He is an outdoor cat, a hunter" -- hence his new name. He was also somewhat of a bully for a while, swiping at cats and people alike, and patrolling every inch of his new territory. It has taken quite a while, but he can now be patted, and does not terrorize the other cats. He has become quite a mellow fellow, observing the world from his special perch. Hunter is still not fond of other cats, and as a result he does not show well in a shelter environment full of cats. He would prefer to be the sole monarch of his home. He needs an experienced owner with a great deal of patience, who can tolerate some occasional unpredictability (no small children, please), and a few claw marks. If you have room in your home and in your heart for this handsome fellow with a strong personality, then maybe Hunter is the cat for you.
